UNITE HERE Local 8 is seeking Organizing Apprentices in the Seattle Metro region to organize in the hospitality industry. We take on multi-national corporations by building worker-led committees. We organize with people to stand up for their rights, stick together and stay motivated in the struggle for justice – inside the workplace and out.
Many Local 8 members work in the tourism industry and in food service at big tech companies – both industries that are taking over Seattle and contributing to our massive wealth inequality and housing crisis. Our Local is taking on the power of these corporations. In 2026, the World Cup comes to Seattle, which brings us an opportunity to organize on a massive scale to win what working people need to live with dignity in this city.
Our organizing program allows you to get hands-on organizing training with personal attention from experienced organizers who have fought and won big campaigns. You join a team of other people with a hunger to learn organizing skills and take on the rich and powerful through rank-and-file action!
