Position Overview

We are seeking an engineering student to join a hands-on internship opportunity during the summer of 2025. This internship is designed to give you real-world experience in energy management, data collection, and project development while working closely with an engineering team and Focus on Energy. Eligible candidates will be working in an environment where innovation meets sustainability, and your contributions will directly support efforts to enhance energy efficiency and drive impactful projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to ongoing engineering projects by performing tasks such as data analysis, calculations, and report writing.
• Participating in meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute to project goals.
• Provide continuous support to help move energy efficiency projects forward and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure energy savings and project success.

• Attend Focus on Energy-supported meetings and trainings, including the initial kick-off training in Madison as well as subsequent virtual training workshops throughout the summer.
• Attend weekly progress calls with Focus on Energy to track project development and receive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, preferably with junior standing, working toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Able to begin work by June 16, 2025
• Able to work at least eight full-time weeks (40 hours per week) during the summer of 2025
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient with AutoCAD
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
