Airbus Commercial is looking for a Director of Workforce Development to join our Human Resources team. This position can be located at the following Airbus locations: Mobile, Alabama; Herndon, Virginia; Miami, Florida; Wichita, Kansas. The Director of Workforce Development will lead the strategy and execution of workforce development initiatives to support the growth of career pipelines across the entire North America region. Reporting to the Head of Talent Acquisition for NA, this role will be critical in addressing the business’s strategic objectives by expanding and proliferating workforce programming across U.S. sites, while also consulting and advising on workforce development concepts and programs for Canada. The successful candidate will drive innovation in workforce and economic development efforts to build a sustainable talent ecosystem that meets the demands of growth, especially in key regions with emerging opportunities. The role involves leading the Regional Workforce Development Strategy, program expansion, M&A and integration initiatives, consultation and advisory for U.S. and Canadian workforce development programs, community outreach and STEAM initiatives, labor pipeline development, partnership development, team leadership, data-driven decision making, internal collaboration, workforce program management, compliance and regional adaptation, and leadership and team development. The candidate will also perform other duties as assigned. Required education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, Economic Development, Business Administration or Political Science, or relevant experience. Preferred education is a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Required experience includes 15 years in Program or Project Management and/or Workforce Development, with preferred experience of 10+ years in management and community outreach. Knowledge of incentive programs in the Gulf region and states where Airbus operates, local government relations, office management, organizational management, and communication skills are required. The role requires 25% domestic travel and fluency in English, with French, German or Spanish preferred. The position is onsite 60% and remote 40%.
